Welcome to our wedding website!

Yes, we're finally tying the knot! The magical date is Thursday, August 2nd, 2012.

A Little About Kristen

Kristen was born and raised in the beautiful Northwest. She moved from the Eugene area to Portland to go to college, and fell in love with the small town/big city feel of Portland. Even though she makes the long commute to Beaverton for her teaching job, she loves the cute bungalow she shares with George in NE Portland and never wants to move!

And George...

George was born and raised in upstate New York. He moved to Portland over 10 years ago and quickly came to love everything the Northwest has to offer--great hiking, cycling, music, good craft beer, and an easy-going way of life.

How We Met

We're are both educators, and believe it or not, we met at school! We went out on our first date after supervising a middle school Valentines Day dance. We went to a local coffee shop and quickly discovered we had many common interests, namely music, cycling, and...cats. Only a few months into our relationship, we adopted two kitties--Jimmy and Ella--who are still our little love bugs. We also planned a couple of biking trips and quickly discovered that we could plan some pretty amazing adventures together. We even rode our bikes 650 miles along the coast to San Fransisco!

The end of our journey from Florence, OR to the Golden Gate Bridge.

The Proposal - Presidents' Day Weekend, 2011

I know, I know. It takes a couple of teachers to really appreciate a bank holiday. We love our three-day weekends, especially this one.

We had been together for over 3 years when we decided to buy a house together. For awhile, this commitment felt a lot like being married! We still knew that we eventually wanted to get hitched, and about a year later on a bike ride to our favorite spot in Portland, Mt. Tabor Park, George pulled a ring out of his little flat kit bag on the back of his bike seat, got on his knee, and proposed. It was a beautiful morning, and we were so excited!
